We Need Unreasonable Entrepreneurs
Building a kinder world through unyielding dreams and perseverance.
In the uncertain times we live in, people seek comfort in conformity, escape in the fantasy that is social media, and the illusion of safety in a 'steady' job. When the whole world seems to be going to shit; keep your head down, âcarry on and keep calmâ, and hunker down with another box set.
It is now, more than ever, we need individuals who don't think like this. The outliers, the misfits, the dreamersâthose with an itch they have to scratch, a fire in their souls, and a sparkle in their eyes.
The unreasonable entrepreneurs.
Anyone can dream, like they do.
The difference here is that they are not merely dreamers but relentless doers, refusing to be deterred by obstacles and persistently striving towards their vision.Â
They're also the ones who champion kindness and promote a spirit of #WorkKind, proving that kindness, business, and progress are not mutually exclusive but gloriously intertwined.
In the words of George Bernard Shaw:
âThe reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man.â
We're in dire need of these unreasonable entrepreneurs who combine audacity with kindness and who are creating the world we want to live in on a planet weâre supporting to thrive.
As the planet accelerates towards climate catastrophe, it's these entrepreneurs who are rising to the occasion because of an unyielding belief that the world can be kinder to its environment. They're the mavericks, pioneering renewable energy technologies, championing circular economies, and advocating for plant-based alternatives. These individuals dare to build businesses with green consciousness at their core, viewing sustainable living not as an option but as a mandate. It's true kindness extended towards our planet.
Unemployment has been a persistent challenge, exacerbated by the recent global pandemic. Yet, even in the face of this adversity, unreasonable entrepreneurs see opportunity. They see a chance to transform society, to #WorkKind, and to help individuals find their purpose. They're the innovators revolutionising work, the visionaries reimagining our education systems, and the brave souls advocating for bold policies like universal basic income. These are acts of profound kindness towards humanity that create opportunities and instil hope in communities worldwide.
Kindness might seem an unlikely companion to the audacious, unruly nature of the unreasonable entrepreneur. Yet it's this very combination that gives them the power to change the world. To #WorkKind is to advocate for kindness, understanding, and empathy in the workplace. It is a rally cry and a focus for action to promote working environments that respect mental health, foster positive relationships, and ensure the wellbeing of all stakeholders, including the planet.
These unreasonable entrepreneurs are the dreamers who never stop dreaming, the strivers who persist despite adversity, and the visionaries who, through their kindness and resilience, refuse to fade away.
In the face of our planet's most pressing challenges, we need more of these unreasonable entrepreneurs. Those who carry the torch of kindness and hold an unwavering commitment to regenerative progress for both people and the planet. Because at the end of the day, it's these relentless dreamers, these advocates of #WorkKind, who hold the keys to a more compassionate, progressive, and sustainable future.
Are you prepared to be unreasonable?
Are you prepared to be kind?
Youâre not alone.
